Wellfleet Duck Creek Boat on the Beach in Color

Welcome to Chapter 75 of my online coffee table book. It chronicles another Summer visit to Wellfleet and the latest in my quest to add color to my favorite drawings. It’s been awhile since the previous chapter but I’m still working on it.  .

Text Box: I drew this derelict boat in 1986 after thinking that I had sold an earlier drawing of another angle of this scene to the New Yorker. The New Yorker had actually purchased a totally different drawing of mine but it took a few years for them to publish. Click here for that story. These old boats take a long time to disappear but most of this one is gone now. The coastline around Wellfleet used to be dotted with these wrecks and I think it gave the area character.
