Manhattan Water Tower 1976 |
This is the view from my living room window. The drawing was done as the cover for a booklet for the New York City Board of Education. I have always had trouble drawing in Manhattan for a couple of reasons. I tend to draw things the size I see them so I have to get some distance. I also find it easier to carve out time to draw while we’re on vacation than during the rest of the year when I’ve got a lot of things going on. One excellent result is that we’ve always tried to take long vacations in great places. |
Close Ups |
I’ve been experimenting with enlarged drawings mounted in multiple frames and then bolted together to make one large work. The photo below shows three of these. |
